Where are we and what do we do?
At our flying field on Bentley Moor Lane, Carcroft, (look for the pond on the map), (co-ordinates N53 34.504 W1 09.863 for your sat-nav), you are able to fly 365 days of the year from 9.00am until dusk.  In practice this does not happen for obvious reasons.  Generally, members meet there on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, weather permitting.

Obviously, we do not fly if there is a strong wind or it is raining.  However, cold weather does not put the members off so don't be deterred from coming down on a chilly day to see what we are about.

During the summer months, Wednesday evenings are perhaps the best opportunity for beginners to get some flying practice.  It tends to be quieter and the instructors have more time.

During the year we hold special events at the flying field.  There is a Scale Day, when minature replicas of full-size aircraft are displayed and flown.  We also have a General Open Day, when other flyers from around the country come to show and fly their models.  Sometimes the Ripmax Display Team will also give a demonstration.  These are great days not to be missed!

On the third Monday of every month we hold our General Club Meeting from 8.00pm at the Sun Inn, Barnsley Road, Doncaster.  In addition to other social activities, interesting talks on all aspects of flying are given and occasionally there is an auction.  These are great opportunities to add to your flying collection.  Complete 'planes can be bought for £30, engines for £10 and radio sets for £20, depending on the bidding.

The Sun Inn is located at the junction of the A635, (Barnsley Road) and the A638, (York Road).

Members have days out to other clubs and at the many model exhibitions around the country.  These are fun days and always enjoyable.

You can be assured of a warm welcome at the flying field or at one of our meeting nights.
